Christiane Bélanger is passionate about dance and she dedicates herself entirely to it, which is reflected in her active career. She's a dancer, a choreographer, the director of the Christiane Bélanger-Danse school of dance, and the founder of La Compagnie Christiane Bélanger and of Le Ballet de Québec.

Her love of dance has played a central role throughout her life. Even at the young age of four, Christiane was already studying the Dalcroze Approach, gymnastics, and classical ballet. In 1970, she attended Ballet of Kataline Molnar where she trained in Russian classical ballet. There, her talent was quickly recognized as she danced in the various productions created by the association of Eddy Toussaint Ballet and Kataline Molnar Ballet. Later on, she became a soloist in the company of Ballet Pavillon under the direction of France James from the Royal London Ballet. Seeking further training, she studied three more years and completed internships in Toronto and other international cities such as Paris, Lyon and London.

In 1982, Christiane received a scholarship to study at l'Entrechat where she danced more than 20 hours a week. During these intense hours, she explored other forms of dance to enrich her knowledge and understanding of movement. But her studies did not stop her from taking the stage as she joined professional dancers such as Diane Thibodeau, Marilyn Tanguay, Josiane Andalou, and Dodick in colorful productions. She completed her studies with several internships with José Limon, Lynn Simonson, and Luigi.

As a result of her training at l'Entrechat, Christiane learned to master contemporary dance. She then integrated these new movements into classical ballet to create a unique and modern style of dance. In 1989, with this original and interesting approach to dance in hand, Christiane Bélanger founded her own school: L'Académie Cadence, which became Christiane Bélanger-Danse. In 2001, La Compagnie Christiane Bélanger was created, followed by Le Ballet de Québec in 2005.

Even with a busy schedule, Christiane participates in different productions as an art director and a choreographer. In fact, several professionals were able to benefit from her talent: Marie Dumais, Daniel Gougeon, the International Snowfliers, and others. Christiane even founded the program BÉDULATA with the actresses Marie Dumais, Linda Laplante, and Marie-France Tanguay. This program couples drama training with normal studies to allow high school students to prepare for the audition at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique.

Christiane was rewarded several times for her successful career and her generous contribution to Québec City's cultural life. In 2003, she received the Femme de Mérite (Deserving Woman) prize in the Arts and Culture section during the Femme de Mérite Gala. In 2006, she was a finalist for the Réseau des Femmes d'Affaires du Québec (Network of Business Women of Québec). In 2007, she was honored at the Soirée des Célébrités (Celebrity Night) of the Réseau des Femmes d'Affaires du Québec.
